A Resilient and Inclusive Neighborhood
Thriving with amenities and development, the Monon16 area is quickly becoming a resilient and inclusive neighborhood in Indianapolis. The Monon16 development team and its partners added $50 million in projects to help build a healthy neighborhood with access to quality housing, economic prosperity, and social and educational opportunities for all residents regardless of income.
Monon16 benefits from easy access to several high-quality public amenities, boasts a wide variety of educational options, and has endless potential for development projects.

The Monon16 Area
Monon16 is the area immediately surrounding the intersection of 16th Street and the Monon Trail, generally bounded by I-70 to the south, 22nd Street to the north, Central Avenue to the west, and Dr. Andrew J. Brown Avenue to the east.

Comprehensive Community Development
The goal of the Monon16 project was comprehensive community development. Neighborhood revitalization must address all aspects of residents’ quality of life, including housing, economic opportunity and security, transportation, infrastructure, public amenities, social and health services, educational opportunities, safety and security, social engagement, and forums to participate in neighborhood decision-making.
